Universal Belongings was founded on the belief that the right essentials can unite us, and that excellence should be accessible.
I’m a longtime New Yorker who was born and raised in Hong Kong, and I saw an opportunity to bring the communal aspect of Eastern cuisine to the Western table. I entertain often in my small Manhattan apartment and have learned even a small collection of quality home goods can bring a big crowd together. A trained architect, I have an eye for impeccable details, for the features that make a piece both unique and functional. My design philosophy is to deliver home goods that are refined but unpretentious, distinctive yet approachable, and as durable as they are beautiful, making them perfect for everyday use. Since we engage with customers directly and avoid conventional retail channels, we're able to deliver exceptionally crafted houseware at an attainable price point without compromising quality.
“Belonging” can be a treasured possession or a sense of comfort, security, and support you feel when you’re embraced.
Our goods aim to unite both meanings. When I invite people into my home, I want them to feel comfortable, and I’ve long dreamed of sharing that sense of belonging with a wider community. Come join, all are welcome.
Universal Belongings proudly identifies as an LGBTQ / AAPI-owned small business.
